Hello members and watchers!

DeviantArt updated their rules about giveaways. It is now against DA policies to hold any contest based on chance, like giveaways and raffles, regardless of the prizes involvedFAQ #894: Can I run a lottery, raffle, sweepstakes or other random drawing or game of chance through my DeviantArt account?

This is the answer I received earlier this week by the Help Desk:
"As outlined in our FAQ, games of chance, such as raffles and lotteries, and fraudulent activity are not allowed. Contests where the outcome is determined by skill or other set judging criteria should not encounter the same concerns as games of chance."
Art/literature contests, scavenger hunts and other events of the sort are still allowed, as long as they don't distribute prizes randomly, because they are based on skills, not on chance. dAWishingWell will still be able to entertain you with fun activities and give point prizes!

Because dAWishingWell abides by the DA policies, will now refuse any wish related to giveaways/raffles or any contest based on chance and remove all current related wishes as well.

We are sorry for the inconvenience!

Hmm.

" Games of chance (such as raffles, lotteries and other random giveaways which require a payment to participate) and fraudulent activity are prohibited on DeviantArt. "
So does this mean that raffles/giveaways that don't require any payments to participate are still allowed on dA? And if yes, then what is counted as a payment. A watch? Making a journal about the raffle? etc.
I am just a bit confused, so I wanted to ask about it. :rose:
